Recently Mercedes-Benz revealed two new special edition G-Class SUV's to mark the 30 th anniversary of the G-wagen. We were quite impressed with these models but now we have simply forgotten them because of this new modified G-Class from the team at Brabus. Just what is so special about this modified G?
Well of course it is underneath the hood as Brabus has shoehorned a S600 V12 into the engine bay of this G-wagen. Brabus just does not drop astock engine into the any modified Mercedes-Benz. Before being placed into the engine bay this V12 from the S-Class is increased in displacement 5.5 liters to 6.3 " using a special crankshaft with longer stroke, larger cylinders and larger bore."
More from Brabus on their work on the engine:
"The engine peripherals were upgraded with larger turbochargers, an optimized intercooling system and a stainless-steel high-performance exhaust system with free-flow metal catalysts. The exahust was custom-developed for the G-Class and features dual chrome-plated tailpipes that exit in front of the rear wheels on the left and right side. New precision mapping for the engine electronics coordinate the perfect interaction of all new components. The results are an exemplary smooth-running engine and maximum power yield while meeting the strict limits set by the EURO IV emission norm."
The results include 700 horsepower and pure exhiliration as this is the most powerful G-Class SUV ever. Note to sixty is just 4.3 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 150 mph. All Brabus vehicles are "recognized by the German Vehicle Registration Agency as a vehicle manufacturer."
Pricing for this super G starts at 379,000 Euros. The world debut of the BRABUS G V12 S Biturbo will be at next months Geneva Motor Show.
