Has the motoring world gone mad? One of the most iconic sports cars in the industry is rumored in the news as set for the electric/hybrid treatment: this very car being the Audi R8.
Is the natural evolution of the modern day automobile? Electric vehicles are exciting I must say, just look at the Tesla Roadster and the Model S. An electric R8 would mean no rumbling of the V8 in the engine bay , and lets not forget about the V10 as well. When all is said and done, at least the R8 will still retain its good looks.
Just where did the idea of an electric R8 circulate? It is not official by no means but the story did surface in the German automotive magazine Auto Motor und Sport.
So what say you ? Does an electric R8 make it the most futuristic automotive car and do you still want to drive it just as much as the V8 or V10 version?
Look for the convertible version of the R8 at the Frankfurt motor show coming up this year in addition to Audi's take on an EV R8.
