Fun new gadgets for those who twitter, flickr , & facebook
The latest craze in mobile computing is "webbooks" and here is a great one from a new startup company in Boston known as the litl.
The litl is a webbook computer and operation system meaning it is a premiere way to experience the internet and all the latest social community sites that you are always using.
The litl is virtually maintenance free and updates itself when it needs to be updated. There is no cd-rom drive but nowadays you can download patches and pdf directly from company websites.
The litl is powered by a 1.86GHz Intel Atom Z540 CPU, 1GB of 533MHz DDR2 RAM and Intel integrated graphics card which means it is powerful enough to do it's job and keep you at bay when surfing the web.
One instance for using the litl besides everyday web surfing would be to upload your photos to the webbok and then connect the litl to your HDTV via an HDMI cord meaning a quick and easy way for a family to view photos.
“As everything from music and photos to email and social networking moves online, it’s clear that the web is transforming personal computing. And yet, most homes are still using computers and software based on thinking from more than 30 years ago,” explained litl’s founder and CEO John Chuang. “We knew that to really meet the needs of home users – from kids to parents and grandparents – we needed to design an entirely new system that would make the web engaging, entertaining and fun.”
If this webbook was around when I first bought my MacBook a few months back they would have had my attention and possibly a sale.
Fun fact about the litl: can be used as an easel for displaying photos when not in use or as a weather info display.
The litl is priced at $699 and can be bought at litl.com. I am looking forward to testing one in the future.
