As some of you may there is demo of the new GT5 available at select Best Buy stores. This can be played on the PS3 kiosk in the gaming section. I had a chance to play the new GT5 and here are my impressions:
The car selections are fantastic. There are now Ferrari's and the demo allows you to play with the Enzo, the new smoking hot (literally) 458 Italia, and also exciting cars like the Citroen concept and the Benz SLS AMG. These are just a few of the 100's of exciting cars available to drive around in the world of Gran Turismo 5 on Playstation 3. The only thing that will be missing will be tuners car like those from Brabus or AC Schnitzer: maybe next time they can include those.
Next I would like to touch on the tracks in the game. There are 5 to choose from in the demo and they all look 100 percent like the real thing. I have never been to the Nurburgring but GT5 allows me to go there and go balls to the wall in Ferrari 458 Italia at over 100 mph. The actual game will have many more tracks and you will be able to race online or test your drifting skills or have at it with a time trial.
After smashing a 458 Italia into a wall at 100 mph there is now damage to ponder over. It is not totally realistic because as you know this would have probably totally the car in real life but it does bring an interesting aspect to the game as there is now damage modeling included in the game. Will people make GT5 into "Demolition Derby" online though is the question I asked myself after playing? I sure hope that you can shut off damage during online racing. I guess we will soon find out this November...

There is no word on when this demo will be available for PS3 consumers at home.
