Gran Turismo 5 is finally here and with me being at 10 percent completion I thought I would let you readers know just how good it is.
My first play experience was with my brother in law Sal and we basically pitted our favorite cars against one another on circuits from across the globe in Arcade Model. Two player split screen mode is something that will keep you and your mates busy for hours. We played the EVO versus the WRX STI, muscle cars, Zonda versus Zonda, and also Lamborghini Gallardo versus Ferrari F40. There are so many tracks and cars to choose from that you won't be putting down the controller.
Now to the A Spec mode:
This is where if your a motor head you will find yourself sitting in front of the TV for hour after hour. I couldn't get away for at least 3 hours over the weekend and the depth of the game is just amazing. My first purchase was an old school Honda Civic STI which when modded out, peeled some serious rubber. The lower depths of racing in GT5 are quite easy and I found myself taking first place in many races. Racing is fun and you really get a feel for all of the different cars. Modding out cars is a game in itself. Premium level cars let you change to more aggressive wheels from BBS and other famous makes. My top of the line car right now is a BMW M3 with all the goodies. She's a real beast...
B Spec Mode:
B Spec mode in GT5 totally compliments the game. When you get sick of racing yourself you build a racer and put him into the Gran Tursimo world. It is a great way to make money for yourself and also is fun to watch. It is almost like watching a real race on tv expect you can tell the drive to "overtake" or to just "slow pace."
Final thoughts:
GT5 is everything you wanted and is worth the wait. It will keep you busy and satisfy your motor head needs on a virtual level. Online racing so far is not all I thought it would be. I wish it would match me up with races as fast as say Black Ops , but in the end you are looking for races. You also make no cash from online racing.
Now I just need a couple million to put a few of my favorite rides from GT5 into my garage.
