As with most M cars there are beautiful alloys, quad exhaust, aerodynamics galore, and last but not least speed. The new M5 is fully capable of hitting 60 in just 4.4 seconds and its top speed rings in just under 200 mph at 190.
There is no six speed to shift with this new M car as with most M cars from BMW. BMW has put the M Double Clutch Transmission into the M5 and this means lightning fast shifting and not having to worry about wifey taking the keys to the car for that quick trip to the supermarket.
A new feature for the M5 is start stop technology which will stop the engine at stop lights. This will help to increase fuel economy on the M5 but will not help it sound any better when sitting at a stop light.
The BMW M5 will make its public debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show coming up soon. US pricing is not announced but you can expect prices to exceed the 80 k mark.
The M5 is still the ultimate in four door performance luxury saloons.
