There is a new Cadillac on the block and it is not your typical one. Cadillac debuted the all ATS at the Detroit Motor Show and the American luxury brand thinks they have what it takes to compete with the Europeans: cars like the BMW 3 Series, and Audi A4.
Judging by appearance it is not the best looking Cadillac in the lineup but it is also not the worst. If someone told you though this was the new CTS you may believe them. It does have a bigger appearance when you look at the car in person but it is indeed smaller than the CTS.Weight wise the ATS rings in around 3400 pounds and the car has nearly 50/50 weight distribution.
There will be two four cylinder engines one standard one(good for 200 hp), one turbo charged (good for 270 hp) and a peppy 3.6 liter V6 to choose from. My take would be the turbo 4 as it will have great gas mileage. Rumor is you may also see a V version of this car and that will be very exciting if they can keep the price down on it. Think of it as a bargain CTS-V.
Expected variations for the new ATS include a station wagon, coup and a convertible. The 2013 Cadillac ATS will go on sale this summer at your local Caddy dealership. You can expect a price in the $34,000 range.
